I received so many good things from my SP and I thought
she could not do more. I came home and there was one more sweet package from
her and inside was some Loopy Ewe yarn in a delicious sunrise color, some great
stitch markers from Hide and Sheep with dark purple beads, HeartStrings Pendant
Shawl pattern, some point protectors, 2 dark chocolate bars; one in a fruity
flavor and the other in an espresso color and a Florida Tropic dark chocolate
ball. I loved everything!! Unforunately, my camera is on the blink and only a
few pics of my gifties turned out. I will post more pics soon. Thanks again, Bronwyn!!

Would love to give kudos to the Blogger who had this button
on their blog. It is cute! Finished the hot pink bell shrug and
have moved on to crocheting a hat and MP3 Player holder with
matching hat for my eldest granddaughter. Last night started
and am embellishing tonite a hot pink w/varegiated colors
granny square scarf for another grandchild. Must make a hat to
match. She lives in Texas hence the cotton scarf and hat set.
I love making items for the kids each year I try something new.

Lovely Snowflakes

The great thing about Winter are the snowflakes! Every year I try
to find new info on water and how our thoughts can generate a pattern
even onto a snowflake. Maybe you have heard of The Shape of Love. Pretty
exciting news that has scientifically produced evidence of how powerful
out little minds can be.

come around. Whewww, this year has gone by fast.
My little knit group has been excited about making
gifts and storing them in a box as a way to be ahead for the
Season's gift giving joy. The girls are so much fun; they
are 4th-6th graders and love to get together at our Library
to knit and talk and munch. It has been great to watch their
enthusiasm over a new pattern or technique. I love how they
make me laugh.

On the Needles

Decided to make another great pattern I had seen on BeatKnit's blog a
few years ago. I have made another previously out of brown bamboo
that I had received from a SP a while back. I love how comfortable
it feels; extra warmth with not the extra bulk. I love layers but, not
soooo many that you look 10 lbs. heavier.

My SP Rocks!

After running some errands this morning I came home & found a box had arrived
from my SP. INside I found the latest copy of Interweave Knits zine, 4 rose sachets that smell divine, some dark chocolate treats, a felted bag, 2 hand made wash
cloths; the pattern I recognized from Mason Dixon Knitting, 2 skeins of some
lovely wool from South America and my most fav book Domiknitrix. I loved the
care and time she took to know what I love. Thanks SP you are AWEsome!

Why KnittingSutra

It seems to be an old cliche to misunderstand certain words that we
use or misuse in our culture that may come from some profoundness in
another part of the world. People often are misled to think that my
blog name is inappropriate yet and often people do not know the meaning
of "Sutra." So, from Sanskrit "siv" to sew: sutra means "That which runs
through and hold things together." Having nothing at all to do with
the Kama Sutra which is the coming together and holding of ...
I feel that my whole life is a basis of those things which hold me
together; hence, KnittingSutra suits me perfect.

There are things to knit & then there are things to cherish. Just love this book.
Even though it may take a while to finish some of my started projects I will definitely make something from this book.

inspired. It seems so surreal & other worldly...
Of course, I thought quite literally that children
could hear the trumpeting of fairies or angels
while laying down underneath this tree. It is
at the Conservatory @ Volunteer Park if you
would like to go & see if you hear any angels
for yourself.

Mehndi inspires

hand
Originally uploaded by knittergurl56.

This pic comes from a Mehndi site that is
fantastic. During the Seattle Bites I had a
tatt done by some girls there doing henna.
I'll post pics soon of said tatt. I am wanting
to do my own tattoos with henna; top of the
hands having my highest vote. Most people
where I work look at it rather curiously & ask
if it is Henna. I love the exotic look & feel as
once it is on you can not touch it for up to 24
hours. Oh dear, nothing to do for 24 hours.
What a perfect excuse to stay sitting quietly for
a while...

Gotta LOve it

Beauty Bar

Last week end we (girlfriend & daughter)
went to the fabulous NightLight Lounge
where we were indulged in a night of
free manicures, eye lash extensions, up-sweeps,
make-up & give aways. It was so much fun...
Even had a hand parafin dip; talk about hot &
torturous! Yikes... What most women do to
look good; fun, yes-- something that I would
do daily-no, no, no...

Cotton Lace Skirt

This lovely skirt pattern is from
Greetings Knit Cafe. I am using a
cotton blend gifted to me by former
SP from purlnecklace blog. It is from
Debbie Bliss & easy to knit. I'm on the
second lace panel for the bottom. Should be an
easy knit to finish. Can't wait to wear it...

This book Domiknitrix has the cutest items and I so love to be able to make
quite a few things from it. Projects on the needles: my previous pal sent some beautiful merino silk in tones of pink along w/this great heart scarf pattern.
I want to finish this & get some help casting on wonderful shawl pattern from
my current pal. The start of this beautiful shawl is a little different than
what I've done before; I love learning new techniques.
