Kudos to my SP- Abby!

On Friday I went to my mailbox and there was something
from my SP. As I opened the box I started giggling as
I so love all things Hello Kitty and Abby gifted some
awesome stuff. I so love the fiber; corn and the color-
Divine Wine. I've already taken the skeins apart and balled
them up for some fingerless gloves. I also loved the mini
of the Trivi Fountain. It is so cool to look inside and see
a 3D mini of one of the world's most popular places in Rome.
I remember a movie when I was a child called "Three Coins
In the Fountain". I hope to see Italy one day, Abby. My
sister went this Summer about the same time you were there.
Thank you so much for all the wonderful gifties and for all
the work you took in putting my package together. Sooo-oooo
Loved it All!! I plan on making both the Fudgy Brownies and
the Cocoa Mix. Ciao Bella!

Summer Almost Gone

Have several knit projects going on and still have time for my gardening.
Made this necklace for a friend who is needing TLC in her life. I chose
rose quartz and several different colors of Swarvoski crystals. At last,
Dahlia's are out; this one is almost as big as my head! I have a fascination
for them...

Still knitting

/
I hope that I have correctly saved this great pic of a bag
I purchased from Amy at goodtobegirl. I love the colors and
the guide on the inside is awesome as it allows a free flow
from your fiber as you knit. On another note; BF & I have
been working together knitting a blanket for his nephew.
Orange is the color & funky is the style. I hope to start
piecing it togother this weekend.

BF is a great Chef and he bakes

My BF is one amazing man. He spoils me to no end and if that isn't
enough he is usually feeding our friends and neighbors. There is
one thing that he does for me that makes me so happy and that is
lemon tarts and high tea. I am blessed to have him in my life; he
is a God sent and a very gentle soul. I send him lots of love today
as he is experiencing tooth troubles. Check out his blog:

Thank you Secret Pal!

My secret pal is one busy gal and she has made this great cotton
chenille flower shaped wash cloth. Along with it is some wonderful
soap-- I so love my surprise secret pal. Thank you so much! You seem
to know my taste ;0)

Me, Hollyhocks and Summertime Festivities

I might enter a competition that involved knitting if it was
for the most original item knitted. I haven't entered any craft
competition before for knitting. I have and still do sell my
handmade gemstone jewelry on consignment and at different craft
fairs. I love anything handmade & love going to see crafts of all
kinds.

LOve Summer

Yesterday our neighbor took us to Deception Pass. Wow! I am always
stunned by the beauty in Washington. If you can live through the
Blahhhs of Winter; Summer will definitely more than make up for all
the misery.

Question of the Week

My favorite supper for a hot summer evening has to be
Mandarin Orange & chicken salad. Or anything off of the
Barbie with greens. I love to eat little and drink plenty
of smoothies and shakes during summer. Come Winter I become
insatiable at eating so I must balance it out;)

Questions for the last 2 weeks

One of my favorite places to knit is outdoors; at the park,
beach, concert. The perfect setting for me really depends
on what I happen to be knitting. If the project requires
me reading a pattern then the best place is somewhere
quiet. Mostly I like knitting in my comfy chair, my feet
are up and I am sipping lemonade.

SP 12 Question of the Week

My favorite project for vacation to knit is
anything small; usually purse, scarf, baby
booties. Anything that gives me instant gratification!

melons, herbs, and soon collards and beets.
I am still knitting; I have made couple of wash cloths from
Mason-Dixon book and have started a skull blanket panel
that BF & I are collaborating on.

Two questions

My fav fiber that I just can't do without is bamboo. It is nubby and stretches
wonderfully. Fibers I would love to have and have not worked with; silk or
angora. My favorite vacation or Holiday place is Maui; I have family there
& I love to go for several weeks when I can. Where would I love to go?
Around the world on a sea cruise with port stops every where.

Rasti Hat and the Wizard of Oz

Busy start to a wonderful Summer. Our youngest,Isabelle just had
her first ballet recital. We had so much fun watching an entire
school of ballerinas of different ages perform. We thought Issy
would be nervous, but, no she's a natural performer. She was a
Lollipop kid. Also, is a pic of a Rasti Hat I made for one cool

Cabled Fingerless Gloves

Love to make gauntlets; these are for my BF and this fiber is called
Maizey--corn fiber. Hard to work with since the thread has had a
tendency to pull apart or unravel as you are working. Needless to say
I was excited about finishing these lovelies.

Lovely Snowflakes

The great thing about Winter are the snowflakes! Every year I try
to find new info on water and how our thoughts can generate a pattern
even onto a snowflake. Maybe you have heard of The Shape of Love. Pretty
exciting news that has scientifically produced evidence of how powerful
out little minds can be.

My little knit group has been excited about making
gifts and storing them in a box as a way to be ahead for the
Season's gift giving joy. The girls are so much fun; they
are 4th-6th graders and love to get together at our Library
to knit and talk and munch. It has been great to watch their
enthusiasm over a new pattern or technique. I love how they
make me laugh.

On the Needles

Decided to make another great pattern I had seen on BeatKnit's blog a
few years ago. I have made another previously out of brown bamboo
that I had received from a SP a while back. I love how comfortable
it feels; extra warmth with not the extra bulk. I love layers but, not
soooo many that you look 10 lbs. heavier.

My SP Rocks!

After running some errands this morning I came home & found a box had arrived
from my SP. INside I found the latest copy of Interweave Knits zine, 4 rose sachets that smell divine, some dark chocolate treats, a felted bag, 2 hand made wash
cloths; the pattern I recognized from Mason Dixon Knitting, 2 skeins of some
lovely wool from South America and my most fav book Domiknitrix. I loved the
care and time she took to know what I love. Thanks SP you are AWEsome!

Why KnittingSutra

It seems to be an old cliche to misunderstand certain words that we
use or misuse in our culture that may come from some profoundness in
another part of the world. People often are misled to think that my
blog name is inappropriate yet and often people do not know the meaning
of "Sutra." So, from Sanskrit "siv" to sew: sutra means "That which runs
through and hold things together." Having nothing at all to do with
the Kama Sutra which is the coming together and holding of ...
I feel that my whole life is a basis of those things which hold me
together; hence, KnittingSutra suits me perfect.
