Family tradition

On the Needles

Decided to make another great pattern I had seen on BeatKnit's blog a
few years ago. I have made another previously out of brown bamboo
that I had received from a SP a while back. I love how comfortable
it feels; extra warmth with not the extra bulk. I love layers but, not
soooo many that you look 10 lbs. heavier.

My SP Rocks!

After running some errands this morning I came home & found a box had arrived
from my SP. INside I found the latest copy of Interweave Knits zine, 4 rose sachets that smell divine, some dark chocolate treats, a felted bag, 2 hand made wash
cloths; the pattern I recognized from Mason Dixon Knitting, 2 skeins of some
lovely wool from South America and my most fav book Domiknitrix. I loved the
care and time she took to know what I love. Thanks SP you are AWEsome!

Why KnittingSutra

It seems to be an old cliche to misunderstand certain words that we
use or misuse in our culture that may come from some profoundness in
another part of the world. People often are misled to think that my
blog name is inappropriate yet and often people do not know the meaning
of "Sutra." So, from Sanskrit "siv" to sew: sutra means "That which runs
through and hold things together." Having nothing at all to do with
the Kama Sutra which is the coming together and holding of ...
I feel that my whole life is a basis of those things which hold me
together; hence, KnittingSutra suits me perfect.

Annie does it Again

There are things to knit & then there are things to cherish. Just love this book.
Even though it may take a while to finish some of my started projects I will definitely make something from this book.

often this Winter. I really like the off

Great summer time acitivities. Still working on my
skirt from Greetings from Knit Cafe. Also, started &
finished a quick knit shrug from DVD Knit in Motion.
Will post pics of progress on skirt & post pic of
completed shrug. It has been such a wonderful
summer that I am almost sad that too soon Fall
will be here. Meanwhile, I am busy getting things
together for programs at work and just loving life
as a whole.

The first time I experienced a Belladonna
plant also known as Angel Trumpet I was
inspired. It seems so surreal & other worldly...
Of course, I thought quite literally that children
could hear the trumpeting of fairies or angels
while laying down underneath this tree. It is
at the Conservatory @ Volunteer Park if you
would like to go & see if you hear any angels
for yourself.

Mehndi inspires

hand
Originally uploaded by knittergurl56.

This pic comes from a Mehndi site that is
fantastic. During the Seattle Bites I had a
tatt done by some girls there doing henna.
I'll post pics soon of said tatt. I am wanting
to do my own tattoos with henna; top of the
hands having my highest vote. Most people
where I work look at it rather curiously & ask
if it is Henna. I love the exotic look & feel as
once it is on you can not touch it for up to 24
hours. Oh dear, nothing to do for 24 hours.
What a perfect excuse to stay sitting quietly for
a while...

Gotta LOve it

Next coffe purchase for me will definitely be this label.
